She had previously said she would step down after Brian Quintenz, President Trump's nominee to chair the CFTC, was confirmed. Goldsmith Romero's departure follows Republican Commissioner Caroline Pham, who also said on Thursday that she would step down following Quintenz's confirmation. Earlier this week, Republican Commissioner Summer Mersinger also announced that she would step down as CEO of the Blockchain Association on May 30.
