Brian Armstrong, chief executive of Coinbase Global Inc., said on Bloomberg Television on Wednesday that the company was continuing to focus on M & A opportunities after reaching an agreement earlier this month to acquire derivatives exchange Deribit for $2.90 billion. He noted that the company has a strong balance sheet and as a public company has liquidity available for M & A, but will choose carefully to find the right time to make a move. Armstrong specifically mentioned that the company is particularly focused on international markets, targeting companies that have the right philosophy and can drive Coinbase product development and growth. When asked if Coinbase would consider acquiring stablecoin issuer Circle (Coinbase has previously reached a revenue sharing agreement with Circle), he responded that "there is no relevant news to announce today".
