California federal judge Stanley Blumenfeld Jr. dismissed a class-action lawsuit against Caitlyn Jenner and her partner Sophia Hutchins. Lee Greenfield, the plaintiff, a British investor, alleged losses of more than $40,000 between May and July 2024 for holding Jenner-issued Meme coins, accusing the defendant of violating securities laws and nine other counts. The judge found that the plaintiff did not provide sufficient evidence to prove that the token trading was governed by US law, giving him until May 23 to add evidence.
Greenfield accused the Jenner team of devaluing the JENNER token in Solana and then launching the eponymous token on Ethereum two days later, while also promoting another pet dog-themed token, BBARK. Jenner could profit by charging a 3% transaction fee for the Ethereum version. Jenner was previously involved in the memecoin controversy controlled by Sahil Arora.
