Trump-linked NexusOne has begun operations aimed at influencing U.S. cryptocurre
On May 1st, a new government relations consulting firm composed of former government officials, NexusOne Consulting, has started operations in Washington, D.C., to help cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence companies shape U.S. policy. The firm is led by white-collar defence counsel Jeff Ifrah, former government lawyer Jim Trusty who represented the Trump administration, and Ross Branson, who served in the Commerce Department during Trump's first presidential term. Ifrah said in the press release that this is a rare opportunity to shape the future of technology policy, and companies need to ensure that innovators are not just reactive to policy, but can actively influence policy.
Mr. Trump has said he wants to make the US the "cryptocurrency capital of the world" and has set out to build a strategic bitcoin reserve. NexusOne Consulting, a firm that bills itself as a bridge between private industry and government directly across from the White House, plans to lobby for companies exploring the frontiers of artificial intelligence, cryptocurrencies and social platforms.
